Clay Tiles

Clay tiles are used to decorate the wall of a house with nice sceneries as you like. you can order to a potter to make your desirable sceneries or choose any sample design for tiles. It is very fashionable. You can make sceneries in each piece of tiles or you can make a big scenery with many tiles. I have captured this photo from Rayer Bazar Pottery Shop "DADA Homage". The potter takes order for tall tiles.

Ghora gari

This is a showpiece. It is found in small size and deep colored. I have captured this photo from Dhanmandi, a pottery just beside Dhanmandi 15 Bus stand. It costs only tk80.

Kamar (Potter)

We know the potters who makes such nice pottery items with attractive designs. I met a potter at Rayer Bazar who was making Jar with clay. I have seen the machine in which the potter makes and shapes the potteries. The potter is very skillful. He makes a jar within 4 or 5 minutes and no one breaks down.

You are seeing the machine of the potter. It is not the same wheel as we see in villages. They do not use that type of traditional wheel but this machine is much easier to work and the potter can sit in a relax mood and run the machine by creating pressure in the lower part of the machine. I have also experienced this new machine of pottery.

(friends, I have a wish to see that traditional wheel of potters. If you know the places nearer to Dhaka where those wood wheels are used to make potteries, let me know please by email....:))

Jhulonto Ghonta

Candle House

Candle House is another showpiece like harikan. It is small in size, just 8 to 10 inch in height. You just set a candle (short in height) into the showpiece and set it in your room table or drawing room side table. It looks so nice in dark.

HARIKAN

This is new pottery item. It is available in Kalabagan Pottery shop beside Orchid Plaza. It is also found in Dhanmandi pottery stalls. This showpiece costs only tk80. It is divided into parts. The lower part are adjustable. You can use it as a Harikan. You just need to set the Keroshin and fire fita. Some salesman will provide these with the harikan. You can set it to you drawing room and you can also set fire inside it. It will not give much light but give a nice showpiece look.

New Decorated Fuldani

This is new pottery item. These are found in big size and cost little bit higher. The body of the fuldani is decorated very nicely just with the clay. Most of this flower vase are sold as non colored. But in some pottery shops, you will see it colored. This photo is taken from rayer Bazar DADA Homage stall. This fuldani is big in size but not heavy in weight as it looks like. These fuldani costs tk100 to tk120 only.

Non colored Fuldani

These are non colored fuldani. Usually these are sold non colored to the retailers. The retailers can color them to make more attractive. But some customers want to buy as non colored.

Matir Bank (fruity shape)

Matir Bank of Fruit shape.

These kind of pottery banks are always very popular to all. Once it was very commonly seen in every pottery shop. But now a days, people are interested to buy the formal designed banks (which are seen before). But these bank are still selling in many areas of Dhaka City. Some banks look like Jack Fruit, Mango, Papaya, Orange and so many beautiful fruits.

Potteries (just after made)

These pottery items are wet. These are need to make dry. When these are almost dry naturally, the potter will heat these to make more hard and stiff. The photo was taken from "DADA Homage" pottery store and production house at Rayer Bazar.

Matir Bank (store house)

Matir Bank is known to all of us. Its a very popular pottery item. I have already post some sample pottery banks in my previous. Now I am showing you the store where the items came from. The photo you are seeing in the left taken from Rayer Bazar Pottery production house. There almost thousands of pottery bank stored in each store house. You are seeing a portion of it. The retailers buy potteries from these store houses and sell it in different areas of Dhaka City or outside. The retailers also decorate these potteries as their own wish to make the customers more attractive.

Big Fuldani

These are the big Fuldani. These are not for taking flowers but setting just at the corner of your room or beside the main door. You are supposed to put another showpiece or pot up to it. These are available in different design and colorful work. The cost of these fuldani varies on its work and the design. The costs are above tk250 to tk350.

Pottery designing

Most of the pottery shop has their own designer who designs the beautiful pottery items. They are very quick in their work. As i explored, they paint a big fuldani within 5 to 10 minutes. As the shop was on the footpath, the shopkeeper or the employed designer work on the pottery items very swiftly.

Mukhoshkolomdani

This is a nice Showpiece or you can say it a flower vase. Its a flower vase but people may buy it for show not for use.
These are small in size and you can buy the long one or short one whatever you like. The long Mukhoshkolomdani costs tk100, and the small one costs tk60 only.

This is an excellent showpiece. It costs only tk150. You can hang it on a wall. It's little bit weighty. This is a sample you are seeing in picture but there are some more sample they have. I hope, this is an attractive pottery work. According to the salesman, most of the customers have bought this showpiece.

FULDANI

Flower-Vase or Fuldani is a very common showpiece to all.
Every one wants to buy a Fuldani for their house drawing room, beside main door, or in front of house or stairs. These vase are different in size and decoration. Some are only for showpiece and some are for flowers use.
These are the Fuldani you are seeing in picture. These are big in size and used mainly for showpiece or with artificial flowers sometimes. It is not so expensive but great!
Prices are given. The biggest one is tk250 and the medium one is tk150 only.

2. Matir Bank

This is another common item and people love to buy it. There are various designed bank in different prices and each one has attractive outlook. Some are expensive and some are chief. The prices vary from tk20 to tk60.
There are some other pottery banks in long shape. These cost tk35 to tk50 only! Others types banks are also available and you can order if you want to buy more big size banks.

1. Stand Tob

Stand Tob is an useful pottery used to plant plants in houses or offices. It is very popular pottery item now. This is available in reasonable prices (from tk120 to tk 220) depend on the size and design. You can see some sample of Stand Tob and their prices at that pottery shop.
